His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa received, at his court, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and Chairman of the Economic Development Board (EDB).
During the meeting, the two princes expressed the Kingdom’s commitment to continue investing in infrastructure and services, in cooperation with the private sector, as a strategic partner, noting that the government will spare no effort to direct its spending to the local economy in order to ensure the continuity and stability of cash flow in order to boost investments and enhance development projects.
They also stressed the need to continue putting forward future investment plans in the fields of housing, infrastructure and public facilities in order to enhance the development march and maintain the steady growth of economic indices so as to meet the needs of all sectors, especially regarding road and energy networks.
They also called for the need to support development projects in the Kingdom and the efforts being exerted in this regard, commending the GCC decision to allocate $10 billion for development programmes in Bahrain.
They reviewed the projects to be funded by the GCC grant, which, they asserted, will reflect positively on citizens’ living standards and be an important tributary of the country’s development process.
The two leaders also reviewed economic development projects aiming to benefit the citizens and attract local and foreign capitals, stressing that efforts should be doubled in order to boost the kingdom’s investment infrastructure and enhance its competitive potentials so as to preserve its pioneering position in this regard.
HRH Premier and HRH Crown Prince also discussed the latest regional and global developments, calling upon GCC countries to act collectively in order to be able to face the on-going economic, political and international challenges.
