His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa who attended at the Bahrain Endurance Village the 120-Kilometre race of the Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF)’s cup, lauded the efforts of BREEF in maintaining the highest standards of equestrian as a leading sports.
The event was held under the patronage of the first deputy chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and BREEF President Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
HM King Hamad was welcomed by the SCYS Chairman and the Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Sultan bin Hamad Al Khalifa and a number of BREEF officials.
HM King Hamad was briefed by Shaikh Nasser on the stages of the race, as well as riders taking part in it. HM the King also exchanged talks with riders and wished them every success.
HM King Hamad also commended the tremendous efforts exerted by Shaikh Nasser, Shaikh Khalid and other race organisers in order to ensure the success of the event, hailing the landmark achievements of the kingdom’s endurance sport at the GCC, Arab and international levels.
HM the King also expressed his sincere thanks for all BREEF affiliates for their dedication and keen desire to honour the kingdom locally and internationally.
Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa gave the starting signal of the race earlier on Saturday.
