By the time gates opens at the Sakhir Airbase today morning, the second Bahrain International Airshow already looks set to be a sell-out success.
The organisers of the event, Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) for the Kingdom of Bahrain and Farnborough International Limited (FIL), are predicting record visitor numbers.
Twenty international defence delegations from fifteen countries are expected to tour the site over the three-day show with representation from throughout the GCC and beyond. Civil delegations representing eighteen countries will also be attending the airshow, a significant increase on the inaugural show in 2010.
Tickets for the public show are still available for sale. Visitors of the public show will be able to wander amongst an amazing selection of aircraft including vintage greats, civil airliners and helicopters.
All visitors, trade and public, will be able to enjoy the thrills of a full four and half hour flying display each day and watch everything from military fast jets to gyrocopters take to the skies above the Sakhir Airbase.
BIAS 2012 will showcase 69 aircraft in total on display in the trade area and 15 in the public arena. In addition to this, an Airbus A380 is expected to fly in for the first day of the show, 19 January 2012.
The Bahrain International Airshow is a world-renowned event that underlines why Bahrain remains a regional leader in aviation.
The Airshow is open to public visitors on all three days and tickets are BD7 for adults and BD3 for children. Public tickets are available from Batelco retail stores throughout the Kingdom and at entrance gates on the day.
