The Minister of Industry and Commerce and Chairman of Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority, Dr. Hassan Abdulla Fakhro, opens on Wednesday the Kingdom of Bahrain’s largest and most popular consumer products event, the Autumn Fair 2012, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre with the presence of the ambassadors of participating countries in this year’s exhibition, members of the Shura Council, House of Representatives, Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, government officials and prominent businessmen and entrepreneurs.
The most popular consumer products fair in Bahrain will run from 25 January to 2 February 2012 with participation of over 700 exhibitors from 17 countries including 86 Bahraini companies. The event which will spread over 15,000 square metres will showcase seven country pavilions.
The Minister stressed the importance of trade fairs in the business sector particularly in the area of retail business and its contribution to the national economy as a whole as well as the benefits it provides the business tourism sector in the promotion of the Kingdom of Bahrain as a destination of choice. The exhibition will be a potential venue for business-to-business relations and cooperation between local and international companies.
As in the past, a huge number of visitors and shoppers from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia are expected at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre. Last year, over 200,000 visitors and shoppers attended the event looking for competitive prices and special bargains of different products from all over the world. The exhibition will display Bahrain’s handicrafts, cultural products and specialty foods and furniture, toys, techno products, fashion, textiles, household items and many more from countries that came to Bahrain to take part in this year’s event including China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Turkey, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates.
