The GCC member states represent a crucial and integral component of the Arab Nation.
His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa made the comments as he received on Tuesday at Al-Rawdha Palace the participants in the “GCC National and Regional Conference – An Inside Vision”, in the presence of Arab league secretary-general Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi.
The Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies is organizing the conference which opened today.
HM the King welcomed Dr. Al-Arabi, wishing him success in his duties towards consolidating the pan-Arab unity.
He also welcomed the participants, expressing pride in hosting the conference in Bahrain.
HM the King expressed the hope that security, stability and peace would reign in the GCC countries to achieve all Gulf nationals’ aspirations towards more progress and prosperity.
He hailed the GCC development strides and the ever-growing pioneering role in the regional and international arenas- at a time the six-nation bloc is moving from the phase of cooperation to the phase of unity.
“This future-oriented step would further invigorate the GCC and turn it into one the pillars of the Arab nation”, he said, expressing Bahrain’s pride in its Arab identity.
He wished success for the GCC National and Regional Conference – An Inside Vision”.
He also expressed the hope that key decisions and recommendations would be reached to bolster the GCC so that it could meet its goals and confront threats and dangers and address the regional and Arab developments as well as their repercussions on the Gulf countries.
He also stressed the need for all parties to step up cooperation and coordination and muster all efforts to protect regional security and stability.
HM the King lauded the pivotal role of the Bahrain Centre for Strategic, International and Energy Studies. The King then hosted a lunch banquet in honour of the participants in the conference.
