Misys, the global application software and services company, has achieved the No.1 position in four categories of the 2011 Risk Technology Rankings. These included Equities, Interest Rate and Inflation in the Trading Systems category; and Equities in the Pricing and Analytics category. Overall, Misys was ranked 3rd with a strong showing in the Trading Systems Category, achieving a top 5 position in all asset classes, including commodities.
The Risk Technology Rankings were compiled from the votes of several thousand subscribers of Risk Magazine and from financial institutions, including banks, asset managers and hedge funds that use the vendor systems. The awards seek to identify the best product offering based on functionality, usability, performance, return on investment and reliability in a wide range of categories including, trading systems, pricing and analytics and risk management.
In September and October 2011, Misys launched new solutions, including a central counterparty clearing solution for Summit FT, and Misys Risk, an enterprise market risk solution that enables financial institutions to measure, control and manage risk across multiple asset classes, instruments, portfolios and systems.
“As a market specialist in OTC derivatives we are well positioned to understand and respond to the changing market needs, particularly central counterparty clearing, collateral management and greater controls on risk and regulation,” Jean-Baptiste Gaudemet, Deputy Head of Solutions Management, Capital Markets, Misys, said. “Our focus as we move in to 2012 is to pursue these top priority areas, further leveraging our deep experience in risk and collateral management.”
Throughout 2012 Misys will launch solutions that capitalise on its asset-class strength across trading systems, enabling multi-silo integration and aggregation, improved user experience, greater data consistency, combined with a lower total cost of ownership for customers.
