The Cabinet’s endorsement of the scheme aiming to increase the wages of private sector Bahraini employees paid less than BD 250 monthly reflects the government’s keen interest to improve the citizens’ standards of living, Labour minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan said, adding that the Ministry launched the plan for the sake of upgrading the conditions of the national labour force and enhance its competence and productivity.
Jameel Humaidan explained that about 20919 Bahraini workers registered under the General Organisation of the Social Insurance (GOSI), representing 26% of the national work force at the private sector, will be covered by the scheme for one year.
Under the scheme, the beneficiaries will get BD 50 or more every month and will be included in training programmes, he added.
