His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa held talks with the United Nations General Assembly President, Ambassador Nasser bin Abdulaziz Al-Nasr.
HRH Premier praised the diplomatic capabilities and competencies that have entitled them to hold the highest positions at international organisations, which, he said, reflects the world’s respect and appreciation of GCC countries and their peoples, praising the crucial role played by Ambassador Nasser Al Al-Nasr as President of the UN General Assembly.
HRH Premier also lauded the UN General Assembly’s supportive stances towards the kingdom’s reform steps and constructive initiatives, commending its role in promoting peace and security across the globe and tendency to settle all disputes through peaceful means and dialogue.
HRH premier also highlighted the importance of the GCC entity in the world, praising the solid relations linking GCC countries, including Bahrain and Qatar.
The agenda of the 66th Session of the UN General Assembly were also tackled during the meeting.
The UN General Assembly President said that the positive steps taken by the kingdom and its wisdom in dealing with the recent events have been admired and praised worldwide, citing the launch of the National Consensus Dialogue, the establishment of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry and the reforms that followed, stressing that Bahrain’s stability is vital to that of the region and the world.
