Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) chairman Dr. Essam Abdullah Fakhro emphasized the readiness and capability of the Bahraini private sector to contribute in development and infrastructure projects. Dr. Essam Fakhro pointed out that the provision of appropriate accommodation to Bahraini families is one of the basic requirements of comprehensive development in partnership between the government and the private sector.
On the occasion of the signing of a construction contract between the Ministry of Housing and one of the construction companies to build more than 4157 housing units in three regions in the Kingdom of Bahrain in consideration for a total cost of $550 million, BCCI’s chairman asserted the private sector’s capability to perform its role in the Kingdom’s development, and hailed His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister for the government’s persistent efforts in compliance with the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain to raise the socio-economic situation and enable citizens through various plans and projects to obtain a secure home and dignified living which is one of the main themes contained in Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 initiated by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and EDB’s President.
According to the government work plans the private sector has been given top priority to implement housing projects which results in the growth of sustainable national economy and amelioration of living conditions for Bahraini citizens.
BCCI’s chairman urged for awarding of more projects by the government to the Bahraini private sector establishments and increasing public expenditures on infrastructure projects for the sake of sustainability of development and accentuated that the Bahraini private sector possesses expertise, know-how and potential to play its role by fully contributing in the development process in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
