A total of 24 students from the Faculty of Art and Design embarked on a nine days educational trip to London, UK where they were given the opportunity to experience living in one of the world’s great creative capitals – its galleries, theatres and museums a of course their Art and Design programs.
Shaikha May Khalifa Al-Khalifa, Graphic Design Lecturer, and Sara Khalid Al Hamar, Graphic Instructor, organized and lead the group through their intensive courses in the University of the Arts London Chelsea.
The Graphic Design students took a four days course in Editorial Design. The course implemented designing and process in magazines and newspapers by which they learned how to use the grid, type, hierarchies, typography for legibility and working with text and image.
Interior Design students took also four days course in Detailing for Interior Designers Program which they were taught how to detail drawing and model making. The rest of the days were spent visiting art galleries, theatres and museums exploring the creative and artistic culture of London.
