The chairman of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (SCIA) His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa presided over a Council meeting called upon rioters to stop violent acts against security personnel.
He also urged the protestors stop blocking public roads or prevent people from enjoying their freedom of movement in the street and described such violent acts as entirely in breach of the clear stipulation of Islamic Sharia and urged religious scholars, imams and speechmakers in mosques to instruct and guide people and to explain to them the provisions of Islamic Sharia and disseminate good, positive behaviour among the population.
During the meeting, the proposed new-year plans, programmes and projects were discussed. On the other hand, the Council discussed latest developments in construction projects, and asserted the importance of such projects and the positive impact they have on people’s opinions, behaviours, etc.
