The National Guard has marked the 15th anniversary of its inception in style. National Guard Commander Lieutenant General Shaikh Mohammed bin Isa Al- Khalifa attended a festival celebrating the event at the backyard of the Bahrain National Stadium. The three-day event is being held under the slogan “House of Glory Festival”.
National Guard Staff Director Major-General Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa and top brass officers attended the festival. Lt-General Shaikh Mohammed paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, for the landmark achievements, technological and human resources development strides.
He also hailed the National Guard officers and non-commissioned officers for their dedication in assuming their duties. He reaffirmed resolve to continue the march of modernization and cope with development strides, describing armament and military education as crucial in the age of science and technology.
Quoting HM the King, he stressed the importance of drawing up efficient plans, building on past experiences, learned lessons and available resources.
“The National Guard has developed from a small entity with limited capabilities to become a well-armed and organized military force capable of protecting national achievements, preserving security and stability and cementing national unity”, he said. The festival featured shows staged by the National Guard band and folklore troupes, in addition to productive families’ handicrafts.
