The stage is set for the year’s biggest sporting and social event: the 2012 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, taking place April 20 to 22 at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) in Sakhir.
The 60-day countdown to the three-day Formula One extravaganza got underway Monday (February 20). Excitement and anticipation is now building up, as the event, which is being held under the slogan ‘UNIF1ED – One Nation in Celebration’, promises to be another memorable occasion.
All-new details of the race weekend were announced Sunday (February 19) at a Press conference at BIC attended by over 100 media members from across the Gulf. Tickets also went on sale and the news of a fantastic 15 per cent discount over the next two weeks spread quickly, much to the delight of fans.
All those who purchase tickets under the special discount will be given a free pass to attend Speed Weekend at BIC on March 30 and 31.
This attractive deal will only be on offer until March 4, and it gives the public a chance to get added value for money for an event that must not be missed.
A three-day ticket covering the entire Formula One weekend, Friday to Sunday, starts at BD42.5 (after the 15 per cent discount) for a seat at the Victory Grandstand, which overlooks the final turn. Seats along the Main Grandstand cost BD153 apiece for all three days. The Main Grandstand offers an ideal view of the start grid, finish line, Formula One pit lane and podium.
For Race Day alone, tickets start at BD34 per seat on the Victory Grandstand. Main Grandstand tickets on Race Day are BD131.75 apiece.
Bahrain International Circuit is also selling tickets to its three other grandstands, including the Batelco Grandstand, Turn One Grandstand and the University Grandstand. All can also be purchased with the 15 per cent discount within the next two weeks.
Complete ticket prices to all BIC grandstands can be found online at the circuit’s official website, www.bahraingp.com.
In addition to regular seating, Bahrain International Circuit is offering a Friday Roaming Ticket for BD55.25 each. This pass allows the holder to watch all of the day’s action from any or all of BIC’s grandstands. They can choose to start the day at the Main Grandstand and will be able to move around, switching grandstands at their leisure throughout the day. This ticket is ideal for fans coming from Saudi Arabia who may only be able to attend Friday’s events.
Meanwhile, a series of other discounts are also on offer for all Bahrain Grand Prix tickets. Children aged between three and 15 years old can receive a 50 per cent discount; while school students aged 16 and 17 years old can get a 25 per cent discount. University students can enjoy a 10 per cent discount.
Further, people with special needs, along with senior citizens who are aged 60 and above, can both receive a 25 per cent discount on ticket prices.
