In line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to keep commodity prices in an affordable bracket, the Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr Hassan Fakhro continued weekly visits to the all major markets, malls and major retail outlets.
Continue with its efforts to enhance control and follow-up local markets and ensure the availability of food and basic consumer stuff at reasonable prices, the Minister of Industry and Commerce Dr. Hassan Fakhro toured Saturday morning Manama Central Market in addition to Al Muntazah and Megamart supermarket as well as Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall.
During Minister visit to Manama Central Market for Fruits and Vegetables, the minister was briefed on market and shoppers movement, where the Traders assured the availability of vegetables and fruits and at stable prices, stressing that market movement returned completely to normal.
In term of meat, numbers of butchers confirmed the availability of required meat, praising Minister’s role in enhancing stock and providing all their needs continuously. From his part, General Manager of Bahrain Live Stock Company Ibrahim Salman confirmed that there is enough stock of cattle with continuous arrival of shipments, which contribute in enhancing the market with this vital substance.
Through minister presence to the AL Muntazah Market, he was briefed on the promotional campaigns that included many materials and consumer goods and aimed to attract largest number of consumers, as reported by Mr. Abdul Munem Al Meer and confirmed the availability of the essential products.
A similar visit was made to Megamart Supermarket, where he was briefed on promotional offers available there. Foad Al Mansory confirmed that the market keen to offer more promotions to consumers.
The inspection visit also included Bahrain City Centre and Seef Mall, where he was received by Ali Al Qattan and confirmed the improvement of mall movement in terms visitors and sales, pointing the raise of visitors during week days and weakened. In term of complex facilities, they are working at full capacity and record large numbers of customers at all times.
Later the minister visited to Seef mall, which recently has seen a refurbishment adding many new facilities especially food court. General Manager of Seef Properties Robert Addison assured that mall movement recovered and provides discounts which attract visitors and shoppers.
