The 10th Middle East Geosciences Conference and Exhibition (GEO2012) will open on March 4 at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre (BIECC).
The four-day key event will be held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa. Arabian Exhibition Management and the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG) are organizing the GEO 2012 along with Al-Dhahran Geoscience Society, UAE Geoscience Society, Bahrain Geoscience Society, Oman Geoscience Society, Qatar Geoscience Society and the European Geoscience Society.
Supported by leading Bahrain, Gulf and world companies, the GEO2012 will also be organized in cooperation with the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and in coordination with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA).
Energy Minister Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza extended thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa for his keenness to patronize the event since its first inception in 1994.
He lauded HRH the Premier’s for his support, constructive directives and constant follow-up of this global event, commending the wise leadership for its firm commitment to back such specialized functions whose positive dividends benefit the national economy, participants and contribute to promoting the competence of Bahraini human resources.
Around 200 leading foreign companies are expected to take part in the exhibition and showcase their latest cutting edge technologies in the fields of oil geoscience, exploration and production.
GEO2012 is also expected to attract up to 1200 researchers, officials, executive directors, engineers and geoscience specialists from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar as well as other countries from the Middle East, the European Union, Asia and other countries in the world.
