The Interior Ministry stressed the importance of protecting economic interests, pointing out the detrimental impact of demonstrations and rallies held at vital business zones.
It also underlined the importance of enforcing the law to maintain public order and protect Bahrain’s vital economic interests.
In a statement it pledged to immediately study the letter which was addressed by traders and businessmen.
The ministry said it was keen on protecting economic stakes and people’s interests, vowing to take them into consideration in conformity with the provisions of the law on political associations, which give the ministry the legal authority to decide the adequate time and location on submitting a notification.
While acknowledging the right to exercise the freedom of expression, being legally guaranteed, the ministry stressed the necessity to pay heed to public and people’s interests when taking security decisions, when it comes to demonstrations and rallies in particular.
The ministry urged all parties to realize the importance of exercising their right to express their opinions without encroaching on others’ rights and interests.
