Director of the Northern Governorate police station confirmed that a report was received from Bahrain International Hospital at 2:05 am related to the demise of Fadel Mirza, 22, following an injury to the head in Duraz area.
He also indicated that a report was also received March 2, 2012 from the same hospital that a patient with a serious head injury was admitted after which the Public Prosecution was informed and had immediately begun its investigations.
The medical report indicated that the injury was caused by the impact of solid body to the right side behind the ears of the deceased.
The Director said that the incidents witnessed by the Duraz area on March 1st included the closure of Budaiya’s main road by vandals and the terrorizing of road users.
The vandals also targeted security personnel attacking them with Molotov cocktails, metal rods and stones that required legal action to be undertaken via the use of tear gas until the situation were brought back to normal.
He emphasized that the incident had been documented with video footage. Moreover, the Director affirmed in conclusion of his statement on the importance of referring to accurate information in such cases and to avoid statements that do not serve public interest.
