The Minister of Education, Dr. Majed bin Ali Al-Noaimi, confirmed that the process of merging students who have special needs with their peers in public schools was successful, pointing out that much attention was given to students of this category amongst the priorities of the ministry’s work.
The Minister attended the Colors Festival for Students with Special Needs conducted in the Central Governorate in which about 100 students participated in the Khalid Ibin Al-Waleed Intermediate School for Boys. The Minister stated that during the past year about 220 eligible students were merged, while this year 119 schoolchildren who have special needs who belong to various age groups have been merged, in compliance with the directives of the wise leadership and the Constitution which stipulated the right of each and every citizen to receive an appropriate education.
The Minister made a tour around the exhibition and praised the works of art displayed at the Colors Festival which indicate the existence of talented kids who have special needs, in which 10 schools participated and contributed to the exhibition.
The Minister pointed out that the Talented-Students Center plays a great role in caring for students who have special needs through programs specifically geared to serve talented students.
