The Ministerial Council of the Arab League has welcomed the initiative of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to establish an Arab Human Rights Tribunal, whose by-law will be discussed by an Arab Committee of expert during a meeting to be hosted by Manama.
This came as the 137th Session of the Arab League Ministerial Committee convened here today, in the presence of the Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa.
The latest Arab political, economic and security developments, the situation in Syria and the Arab-Israeli peace process topped the agenda of the meeting.
The Foreign Minister also took part in consultative meeting of Arab Foreign Ministers with their Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov with whom they discussed the Syrian crisis and ways of solving it.
