A Bahraini parliamentary delegation met German Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee member Erich G. Fritz and gave an update on the current situation in Bahrain and ongoing legislative developments, outlining the draft constitutional amendments which will be discussed by the National Assembly.
The delegation includes Shura Council member Hala Ramzi and MPs Sawsan Taqawi, Soumaya Al-Jowder and Ibtissam Hijris. They also stressed the Government’s adopted policy to engage women in all fields and facilitate her integration in parliamentary work.
The delegation pointed out the measures implemented by the National Commission in charge of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendations chaired by Shura Council President Ali bin Saleh Al-Saleh.
The follow-up commission will submit its final report to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa soon.
The delegation underscored Bahrain’s efforts to cement national unity and implement the recommendations cited in the (BICI) Report.
German Bundestag Foreign Affairs Committee member Erich G. Fritz lauded the (BICI) report expressing the hope that the implementation of its recommendations would restore peace and stability in Bahrain.
He also commended HM the King for his unprecedented initiative in the Arab World to restore stability and protect Bahrain’s security and social fabric.
The parliamentary delegation also met members of the German-Arab Association.
