Bahrain Chamber of Industry and Commerce (BCCI) officials met representatives of the American McGuire Woods Consulting Company and discussed ways for the private sector to reap the dividends of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between the United States and the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two sides discussed ways of increasing the presence of Bahrain businessmen in the US market, promoting opportunities for joint investment and also establishing joint ventures between businessmen in both countries.
They also explored the possibility of holding an exhibition to showcase Bahraini-made products in the United States, and setting up marketing activities and exchange visits of trade delegations between Bahrain and USA.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged ideas and suggestions on improving economic and trade relations between the private sectors in both countries, as well as reviewing the available opportunities and the economic and investment potentialities existing in Bahrain and USA. They also reviewed the possibilities of economic and trade cooperation, in addition to the most important ways to increase intra-regional trade between them.
Also during the meeting, Bahrain Chamber of Industry and Commerce reinforced the importance of activating the results of Bahrain’s trade and economic delegation’s visit to United States last year, especially with regard to joint ventures that have been discussed in the framework of the visit.
It also pointed out the importance of following up these results and the implementation of all the recommendations.
US delegation welcomed the business partnership between the business sectors in both countries, and stressed the importance of exchanging visits of trade and economic delegations to create and promote opportunities for joint investment and establish joint ventures between American businessmen and their Bahrainis counterparts.
