The BDF Royal Navy has concluded the joint tactical military drill (Sword) with participation from US Marines’ Task Force which had begun on March 5, 2012.
The exercise aims at brushing up combat skills for the task force contingents, upgrading the concept of special instructions, consolidating and boosting common military concepts for the Royal Navy and the US Naval Task Force via exchanging of expertise, enhancing interaction between the Bahrain-USA sides, exchanging of experiences.
The exercise included a number of joint drills, shooting, light weapons familiarization, building and ambush-and-search, antiterrorism operations and medical aid.
This periodical conducting of joint military exercises is considered the highest level of bilateral naval training activities, in which a large number of forces, equipment and professionals are involved.
It embodies military cooperation and coordination between both friendly countries within the framework of BDF Navy preparations to assume its national duties in defending the Kingdom.
