His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa Monarch of the Kingdom of Bahrain received in Al-Safriya Palace the United Nations Industrial Development Organization’s (UNIDO) General Director Dr. Kamdehkolleh Yumkella in the presence of HM the King’s Personal Representative and the Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, the Environment and Wildlife’s President His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa on the occasion of the UN official’s current visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain for attending the Bahrain International Forum and Exhibition for Green Technologies2012.
HM the King welcomed the UN official, emphasizing the Kingdom of Bahrain’s constant keenness on developing cooperation with the United Nations Organization and its affiliated agencies in order to serve and contribute into boosting development process in the Kingdom, and expressed HM’s pride in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s good relations with the United Nations Organization.
HM the King praised the UN’s effective role in developing projects and plans for sustainable development all over the globe and lauded UN’s efforts in supporting security and stability all over the world.
HM the King explored with the UN official the Kingdom of Bahrain’s facilitation provided in order to attract investments and to launch industrial projects in suitable atmospheres for economic activities to ensure growth and economic boom in addition to the Kingdom’s huge potential in terms of legal and legislative environment, reiterating the Kingdom’s commitment t protecting the environment and attracting international companies in order to launch various projects, and expressed His Majesty’s pride in the ambition young Bahraini citizens initiatives for implementing industrial and commercial enterprises and contribution into the national economy.
HM the King confirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s hosting of regional and international conferences and forums which provide opportunities for exchanging and boosting expertise in various economic and industrial aspects.
HM the King tasked UNIDO’s General Director Dr. Kamdehkolleh Yumkella to convey HM’s compliments to the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon and HM’s appreciation to all UN staff members for their laudable efforts.
