Thousands of people descended on Mara’ee Bahrain Animal Production Show during the first three days of the event, taking up the opportunity to interact with and learn about all the different animals on display.
Well over 120,000 people have visited the show in the first three days and there are still three more to go, meaning visitor numbers are looking set to reach 200,000 before the fun is over.
Yesterday, buses from Manama transported hundreds of students out to Bahrain Endurance Village where Mara’ee is being held, who spent hours touring all the different entertaining and educational shows being put on.
One of the most popular is the Mad Science lab which is seeing around 250 kids through its doors every hour. Likewise, Fish World and the tropical rainforest are proving just as popular and fun for entire families, where they’re learning amazing facts about animal life and care while being engaged and entertained.
There’s an entire tent filled with birds from around the world, another with cats – exotic and domestic. The dogs have their own area outside to run around and play, put smiles on everybody’s faces and generally have a good time.
“Mara’ee is a show for the people of Bahrain, it’s an opportunity for families to spend quality time together, learning and having fun, getting to know more about the world around them and how they can have a positive effect on the environment and the animals we share it with,” Event General Coordinator Ahmed Almadani, said.
“The response from the public has been amazing. Just three days in and we’ve already had more visitors than the entire 2010 show – Mara’ee is becoming a tradition and by the end of the event we hope to have established it as one of the most popular days out for Bahraini families.”
