National Commission lauds the direct compensation initiative

The National Commission convened to conduct a Comprehensive Periodic Review of actions taken by the Government of Bahrain to implement BICI recommendations. This review ensures the compatibility of those actions with the contents of the recommendations, as well as compliance with international standards and practices, in preparation for the National Commission’s final report on its achievements during its mandate.

The National Commission Chairman Ali Al-Saleh pointed out the supportive comments he received during meetings held with official delegations and ambassadors of a number of countries to Bahrain.

The Commission echoed the announcement made in Sunday’s Cabinet meeting approving the Civil Settlement Initiative to pay compensation to victims directly and without delay, as proposed by the National Commission and directed by a royal decree to expedite remedy for damages resulting from the events of February and March of last year.
