A delegation from Bahrain participated in the 39th session of the Arab Labour Conference that started in Egypt, and will continue till the 8th of April.
The delegation is led by the Minister of Labour Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan. The delegation was in three divisions that are the government, presented by the Ministry of Labour, employers, presented by Dr. Essam Abdulla Fakhro, president of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and the employees, presented by Salman Jaffar Al Mahfoudh, Secretary General Federation of Bahrain Trade Unions.
The most important topics on the agenda of this conference are the report of GM of the Director-General of the Arab Labour Organization, Ahmed Mohammed Luqman under the name “social security: a method to achieve social justice and a guarantee for the future generations”, and another report under the title “programs of combating unemployment in the Arab world: evaluation and areas of development”, there will also be a report on “completing roles of private and public sectors in development”.
This session of the conference discusses the organizations plan for the years 2013-2014, and follows up with the Arab employment contract (2010-2020).
It will also discuss the social security Arab-wide, as well as the follow up on the implementation of the last conferences decisions.
On the margin of the conference, a round table conference will be held to discuss “employment of youth and the deep changes in the Arab countries”.
It is noteworthy that the ministers of labour of the GCC states held a coordinating meeting, on the margin of the conference, to come up with unified gulf stances concerning the subjects on the agenda.
