The Ministry of Interior of the Government of Bahrain can confirm that the body of a man was found in the village of Shakhoura this morning at 8.10am on Saturday 21st April 2012, according to a statement issued by Information Affairs Authority (IAA).
The statement confirmed the individual, Salah Abbas Habib Musa, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene, with a wound to his left side.
Following the discovery of the body, the Public Prosecutor arrived at the scene and has taken charge of the investigation.
The body was then removed and a post-mortem will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
“The investigation is ongoing but the death is being treated as homicide,” the IAA statement added.
“We are pressing ahead with our investigations with every resource available. As soon as we have further information available, we will make a further statement. In the meantime, I would ask that people await the results of the autopsy and further updates rather than relying on speculation, including rumors spread through social media. In addition, I would like to ask anybody who has any information regarding this incident to contact the Ministry of Interior on 80008008. The Government condemns all acts of violence and will ensure the perpetrators of this crime, whoever they may be, will be brought to justice,” Public Security Chief Major-General Tariq al Hassan, added.
