His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain delegated Industry and Commerce Minister Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Convention and Exhibition Center Dr. Hassan Fakhro to open the 4th Annual Food & Hospitality Expo 2012, which was launched yesterday morning at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Centre, in presence of Health Minister Dr. Sadiq Al Shahabi, BCCI Chairman Dr. Essam Fakhro and a number of board directors, ambassadors, Ministry officials, businessmen and investors.
During the opening ceremony, the minister praised the continuous care for food & Hospitality of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for such large event that attract investors from all over the world to Bahrain. In addition to its role in enhancing strategic location and international reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain as strategic center for organizing various exhibitions and conferences
In this regard, the minister noted the increase of bookings at the Bahrain International Exhibition & Convention Center during the year to establish many exhibitions and conferences and commercial events, which expected to attracts hundreds of thousands visitors to the country. He noted that bookings percentage exceeded 90% and there are many applications under study for this purpose.
The Food & Hospitality Expo provides a strategic platform for participating exhibitors including retailers and large-scale buyers in the manufacture and supply of food and hospitality products and services, manufacturers and distributors of food packaging and kitchen equipment, food and beverage professionals including caterers and chefs, and health experts. The exhibition offers an opportunity to network and meet with specialists in this growing industry in the region.
This year’s Food & Hospitality Expo, which will run from 17th to 19th April 2012, in Hall 2 of the Exhibition Centre, will feature exciting live demos including cooking, fruit carving and cake decorating, tasting stations, chefs’ competitions, healthy eating seminars and kids’ area, among others.
The event is held supported by Ministry of Industry and Commerce with Tamkeen (Labour Fund) as its strategic partner and it is the largest gathering of food and hospitality professionals and stakeholders in this important sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
