The Parliamentary delegation at the Arab and Islamic countries meeting in its 126 session of the International Parliamentary Union was able to foil a suggestion submitted by Iran in placing the Kingdom of Bahrain on the list of countries engulfed by instability and problems.
This move had forced Iran to withdraw its suggestion before even voting on it during the session.
The Bahraini delegation led by Dr Saleh Ali Abdulrahman said that the size of cooperation and understanding of the international parliamentary delegations on the truth of the situation in Bahrain did not provide the appropriate grounds on supporting Iran’s suggestion to place it as an issue of discussion.
Meanwhile, the participating parliamentary delegation extended its thanks and appreciation towards all the stances from various Arab and Islamic parliamentary delegations in support of the Kingdom of Bahrain and their refuting to the suggestion made by Iran.
This indicated the delegation reflected the understanding of these delegations the true situation in Bahrain and also the strong bilateral ties existing between the Kingdom of Bahrain and other brotherly countries.
