Transport Minister Kamal bin Ahmed the Regional Aviation Security Conference at Movenpick Hotel Bahrain. Delegations from 17 countries and 6 international organizations participated in the event organized by Civil Aviation Affairs (CAA) in cooperation with international civil aviation organization (ICAO).
The secretary-General of ICAO, Raymond Benjamin thanked the political leadership and wise government of Bahrain for the support and facilitations they provided, through CAA, to organize this important conference.
The conference brings together the countries of Middle East and North Africa, as well as a number of related international organizations, under one roof to discuss adopting the decision of ICAO to enhance the security of civil aviation.
The decision was submitted in 2010, with the support of all member countries, to work as one team to unify procedures in airports all around the world, in order to stop the influence of illegal interference of terrorist individuals and organizations.
Benjamin said that those procedures cannot be implemented without complete cooperation of all the countries, working towards one goal, which is guaranteeing passengers’ security over the world.
He also stressed that procedures of air shipping should be stricter.
