Bapco hosted the Chevron Joint Venture Refining Operating Committee (JVROC) Meeting which was attended by executives of Chevron’s Joint Venture refineries led by Chevron President of Manufacturing, Gary Yesavage.
Following completion of the two days of intensive meetings, Bapco hosted a farewell reception for the JVROC members in the Princess Sabeeka Park. The reception was attended by JVROC, members of Bapco management, and Chevron secondees to Bapco.
The role of JVROC is to maximize long term returns to shareholders by ensuring experience and knowledge within both the JV and Chevron networks are applied to deliver superior results and then sustained by building organization capabilities. During the two days of meetings, various initiatives that are underway were discussed, and action plans were agreed. The JVROC is the umbrella committee for several other JV committees that Bapco is involved with, including the Technical Leadership Group (JVTLG), Process Safety Management (JVPSM), Reliability and Maintenance (JVR&M), and the Procurement Network. Bapco is strongly represented on all these committees and is using the information shared to improve our own processes.
Gordon Smith, the Bapco Chief Executive, closed the JVROC session in Bahrain by thanking all involved for two days of intensive and fruitful discussions.
“By working together, and learning from each, we can only become stronger and more competitive in this very competitive business,” he said.
