DHL Express Bahrain hub and regional distribution center has once again been awarded a class A 100% certification by the internationally recognized Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA).
“DHL Express Bahrain Hub has received the highest security certification, continuing the company’s outstanding TAPA certification history in the Middle East,” Stephen Duff, General Manager of Bahrain Hub, said. “We are also setting new records in security standards,” he added.
“For the third consecutive time, the Regional Hub in Bahrain has been awarded a Class A certification with a 100% score, and we have also been recertified according to the new 2011 requirements. The Bahrain Country Office Operations & Gateway also achieved a 96.22% score with Class A certification and our Oman Country Office and new Gateway Facility combined were certified with a 90.5% Class A score” he said.
TAPA ensures a best-in-class standardization and harmonization risk mitigation approach to minimize losses and risk within the supply chain. TAPA Freight Security Requirements have been established by security professionals within the high value, high risk product sector to address the nature by which goods are handled, warehoused and transported as they move throughout the world. These requirements were modified in 2011. TAPA offers three levels of certification with increasingly strict requirements from Class C to Class A.
“The continuous high scores are a testament to DHL’s commitment to delivering safety at every step of the journey. They also highlight the security standards in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the important position Bahrain continues to hold as the gateway to the Middle East and a key aviation and logistics center for the region,” Duff, said.
“DHL has once again proven itself to be to be the leader in transportation security. This was made possible by the world class processes and equipment we have set in place and the sheer dedication of our staff, to whom we are very grateful,” he concluded.
