Bapco thanked the Minister of Energy, Chairman of National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and Chairman of Bapco’s Board of Directors, Dr. A.Hussain Bin Ali Mirza, for his valued support to Bapco’s activities & events, especially Bapco’s First Annual Art Competition which recently concluded its activities successfully on at Bapco Club, Awali, under Dr. Mirza’s kind patronage, where winners of the art competition were announced during a closing ceremony and awards were presented to them.
Gordon Smith, the Chief Executive expressed the pride of Bapco’s management & employees in HE the Minister’s valued support and ongoing encouragement for Bapco’s events & programs which greatly contributed to the achieving the success of these events. Smith stressed that without the ongoing support & continuous care of HE the Minister, and the National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA), Bapco would not have been able to pursue its role as a key contributor of the aspired national development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Bapco held last Wednesday the closing ceremony of its first annual art competition under the patronage of Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza. The event was held in the presence of a number of senior officials and key personalities, in addition to members of Bapco’s Management, a number of guests and press delegates. Leading artists of Bahrain were present at the ceremony. The competition, titled: “Energizing the Nation”, was held at the level of the Kingdom as part of Bapco’s dedicated support to the arts movement in Bahrain and its continued commitment to encourage promising talents of arts in the Kingdom. The competition is envisaged as part of Bapco’s ongoing efforts as a key contributor to the community welfare and an active supporter of the art activities & artists in the Kingdom.
Dr. Abdulhussain bin Ali Mirza gave a brief speech in which he expressed pride in Bapco’s key role of supporting the various activities & initiatives which aim at fostering the community welfare and prosperity of current & future generations. “We are proud of the prominent role that Bapco plays in supporting the various national drives aimed at fostering activities & events in which we take full pride for their noble goals in enhancing the welfare of our present & future generations. We are delighted with Bapco’s role as a key supporter of the aspired national development of Bahrain and an active partner in the social progress of the Kingdom”, the Minister said.
“We at the Oil & Gas Sector spare no effort in supporting national establishments which introduce meaningful initiatives & projects that drive at enhancing the national development of the Kingdom. “Bapco’s First Annual Arts Competition is a vivid testimony of the national obligation of this leading establishment and its ongoing commitment towards the Kingdom. The oil and gas sector fully recognizes with pride the prestigious status that the Kingdom occupies as a leading cultural hub regionally and globally due to the great cultural heritage & history of our beloved country in which our current and future generations take full pride”.
“This has constantly urged the oil & gas sector to provide substantial support for the various projects, programs and initiatives that go in this direction, including Bapco’s 1st Annual Art Competition which aims to fostering Bahrain’s image and promoting its heritage,” the Minister said.
The Minister toured the gallery of the competition that featured the art works participating in the competition. He expressed delight at the high level of works displayed at the event. HE the Minister stressed that this competition successfully achieved its goal of encouraging the artistic talents in the Kingdom. The Minister met with a number of art key figures of Bahrain, and met with the first winner of Bapco’s art competition; Reem Al-Arrayedh who won the first prize of BD 1500. Dr. Mirza praised the art work made by Reem, wishing her continued success and progress.
Dr. Mirza also met with many participants of the competition and thanked them for their active participation in this competition. Ritu Samadar won the second prize of BD1000, and Jesus Ramos Tejada won the third prize of BD500. A number of participants were recognized in apperception of their valuable works. The winners expressed their sincere thanks & gratitude to the HE Minister for his support of the competition, and thanked Bapco for organizing this competition which successfully conveyed a noble message of the arts in serving the community.
Upon the conclusion of the arts activity, a musical ceremony was held in collaboration with the Life in Music Institute. Violin & piano music were played to mark the occasion. The evening received a large number of guests and music lovers who came to enjoy some classical music played at the ceremony. Bapco’s management expressed its sincere thanks to officials of the Life in Music Institute for supporting the event and contributing to its success.
