His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information and Communication Technology (SCICT), opens the fifth Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2012 on Sunday at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bahrain.
During the inaugural ceremony, His Highness the Deputy Prime Minister will also initiate Bahrain IT Expo and honour this year’s winners of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2012.
The exhibition will open its gates for the public from April 9th to 11th at the same venue – Ritz-Carlton’s Al Ghazal Ballroom. Starting from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on the first day; the following two days (10th and 11th) closing will be extended to 5:00 p.m.
Forum sessions will commence on April 10th and 11th from 8.30 a.m. to 02:30 p.m. at the Ritz-Carlton’s Al Noor Ballroom.
This year’s forum will explore the latest developments in the field of ICT, with particular focus on hot topics related to eGovernment, eParticipation, eInnovations, Mobility, Social Media and Open Data. Furthermore, the forum consists of four workshops organized by specialized societies and organizations; and presented by prominent regional and international experts who will share their professional knowledge and experience. Four specialized workshops will be presented during the forum at the stated venue. Two workshops will be held on the first day (9th April) – Cyber Law and Public Private Partnership from 8.30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Al Noor Ballroom, and Social Media Hands-on Workshop from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rotunda Ballroom. The second day will witness the eContent Workshop: Web is All About Contents from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Rotunda Ballroom; and finally the Security Workshop on 11th April at Rotunda Ballroom from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
The forum is organized by the eGovernment Authority in cooperation with Bahrain Society of Engineers, Bahrain Internet Society and Project Management Institute – Arabian Gulf Chapter.
It is expected that this year’s Bahrain International eGovernment Forum and Bahrain IT Expo will attract over 500 local and international visitors.
