Bahrain’s business community should maximise their share of the spotlight when the 2012 Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix takes place on April 20-21-22.
This was the message of Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa, who was speaking at an exclusive meeting with the leading business community members.
Those in attendance included 70 high-profile business leaders creating a forum to hear about and discuss the plans for the forthcoming Formula One spectacle.
“The Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix remains the region’s biggest sporting, social and business-networking event, and we are keen to ensure that local companies of all sizes feel the benefit from this opportunity,” Shaikh Salman said.
“Everyone knows that the Grand Prix brings over $200million in direct income to the businesses of this country across all sections of the community. By taking ownership and pride in the Grand Prix and by being creative and taking a presence, our event is also a significant influencer for national, regional and international business contacts.
“It is no secret that business has been difficult and the economy has suffered in the past year, and now there is a unique opportunity to redress the balance a little more favourably.”
