A group of Asians accused of hacking the electronic system of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) have appeared before the Public Prosecutor to face charges.
The hackers used an LMRA employee’s pseudonym and password and cancelled the violations committed by some companies in exchange for BD1500.
The General Directorate of Economic and Electronic Security and Anti-Corruption arrested the hackers following the LMRA officials suspected one of its employees of foul play.
The squad identified an Asian who used an employee’s password and pseudonym to have access to the LMRA electronic system.
Other Asians living in Bahrain will also face charges for aiding and abetting the mastermind. One of them stands accused of promoting the cancellation of violations in exchange for money.
Police are now tracking down the other accomplices who are still at large to bring them to justice.
