, in which 50 exhibitors are taking part and being held on the sidelines of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2012 at the Ritz-Carlton, Bahrain Hotel and Spa.
His Highness pointed out that the IT Expo is an interpretation of the government endeavors to nurture development and online access both in the work of public and private entities; confirming that the main objective is to reinforce the economy of knowledge through the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in all fields.
His Highness had a tour around the exhibition sections where he visited the stands of the participating entities and explored the showcased eProducts and solutions. At the end of his tour, he thanked all who participated in the organization and preparation of the forum and IT Expo of this year, wishing them all the success.
Over 50 exhibitors from the public and private sectors took part in the event, including Gartner from United Arab Emirates, Crimson Logic from Singapore, and many others from Bahrain: Polytechnic Bahrain, Gulf Future Business, Tamkeen, Al Zayani Computers Systems, Information Village, Bin Hindi Informatics, Hi-Net Bahrain Green Data Center and Consumer Advisory. Other exhibitors also comprised eMagazine, eGovernment Authority pavilion and ministries such as Ministry of Interior, Transportation, Housing, Works, Labour, Education, Municipalities and Urban Planning, Health, Energy, Industry and Commerce and Foreign Affairs. Central Information and Communication Organization, Social Insurance Organization, Civil Aviation Affairs, Civil Services Bureau, University of Bahrain, the Tender Board, Public Management Institute as well as Electricity and Water Authority were present.
Seven Bahraini students, from both genders, belong to Creativity Private School had participated in the expo to showcase a special smart robot of which they created – based on an ultra sound censors technique.
His Highness launched the eKey system as the first of its kind in the region; it offers three levels of security including passcode, smart card, and fingerprint for identity verification and enables users to use an integrated eKey to access government services offered through all available channels. In the future, it will accommodate the services offered by the private sector through the same eKey to provide a better engagement and highly secured transactions with the government and private sectors.
IT Expo 2012 was organized alongside with the forum – aiming to exchange experiences and expertise, discover the latest global developments in the field of ICT and distribute the culture of technology locally, particularly in the light of the growing number of exhibitors and participants from year to year.
The IT Expo is open for public to explore state-of-the-art technologies and closely communicate with exhibitors.
