Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry on Monday announced that two terrorists had climbed onto the roof of the London-based Bahrain embassy from a neighbouring building at 1.30 pm (London Time).
The Embassy informed the British Foreign Office, asking speedy measures to be taken to address the situation, evacuate the terrorists from the roof of the building and take legal action against them. In a statement issued today, the ministry said that British police were still dealing with terrorists in an attempt to evacuate them.
The Foreign Ministry also urged the British Government to assume its legal responsibility fully and provide necessary protection for the embassy premises, diplomats and employees in conformity with the 1961 Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations.
