The Chairman of Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Dr. Essam Abdullah Fakhro held a meeting today at Bait Al Tajjar with the Brazilian Ambassador, Roberto Abdullah and the Brazilian government’s Special Envoy, Milantonio Cesario.
Dr. Essam Fakhroo stressed exerting efforts to develop Bahraini and Brazilian joint economic relations particularly in the light of the available investment opportunities in both countries, and highlighted that establishing a council for Bahraini and Brazilian businessmen is considered the first step towards strengthening these bilateral relations.
Dr. Essam Fakhroo praised the efforts of the Brazilian Embassy in Kuwait in promoting the joint bilateral relations between Bahrain and Brazil, expressing that Bahrain’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) welcomes the Brazilian investments in the Kingdom of Bahrain and in the region as well.
Dr. Essam Fakhroo also pointed out Bahrain’s geographical location, its world’s financial and banking position, and its economic legislation. He also highlighted Bahrain’s flexible investment regimes, its integration with the Gulf market, and being a commercial gateway for the countries of the region, where it is regarded as one of the most distinctive investment destinations in the region and the world as well.
The Brazilian side expressed their interest to activate the joint economic bilateral relations between Bahrain and Brazil, calling on Bahraini businessmen to visit Brazil and closely review the various investment opportunities, praising the great facilities offered by the investment laws in the Kingdom.
They also pointed out that Bahrain enjoys a great logistic infrastructure that encourages investment, not only in the region, but in the Middle East as well.
The Brazilian side highlighted the availability of direct flights between Bahrain and Brazil in reference to a desire to exchange frequent visits between the business sectors in both countries and discuss ways of economic cooperation and joint investment, calling on signing a bilateral cooperation agreement between the Chambers of the two countries.
