Bahrain has officially approved the establishment of an authority charged to follow up the implementation of the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI) recommendations. Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al-Khalifa announced the move, which comes in line with Cabinet directives.
Dana Al-Zayani has been appointed as chairperson of the new authority, while Hussain Alam will take over as follow-up director. Supreme Judicial Council Advisor for development and planning affairs Judge Khalid Mohieddine Ahmed has also been appointed as consultant.
The newly-established panel will assist the minister and coordinate all parties concerned with the implementation of the (BICI) recommendations. It will also draft reports to update official authorities on the progress of its work and ensure the implementation of the recommendations.
