Under the wise leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Kingdom has committed itself to reform and development, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa said, noting that protection of human rights, broadening popular participation and consolidation of democracy and transparency are clearly reflected in the successive initiatives, taken by the country, including the Bahrain Independent Commission of Inquiry (BICI).
He also affirmed that the government accepted to implement all BICI’s recommendations, without exceptions adding that many have already been implemented while the rest will be finalized soon.
This came as HRH Premier received at his court the Director-General for the Middle East and North Africa at the German Foreign Affairs Ministry Boris Ruge.
During the meeting, HRH Premier asserted that security and stability are indivisible and benefit all citizens, stressing that any attempt to undermine national unity through sowing sectarian division will not be allowed.
“Maintaining the security of the homeland is our sacred duty and the measures we have taken to achieve this goal are in accordance with the international standards in this regard, including the respect of human rights and minimum use of force,” HRH Prime Minister said, indicating that the kingdom’s reform approach has laid the strong basis for constitutional institutions through which democratic and legal demands can be presented.
HRH Premier also lauded the advanced level of the outstanding Bahraini-German relations over the past four decades, adding that the Kingdom looks forward to enhance its political and economic cooperation with friendly Germany and take advantage of its advanced expertise in all fields in its development programmes.
The German official expressed his country’s appreciation of the kingdom’s openness and transparency in all fields.
He also commended the bold initiative taken by HM King Hamad to establish BICI, asserting that Germany is proud of its historical relations with the kingdom.
