Minister of Energy Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza launched the annual report “Oil and Gas Year 2012”, prepared by Wildcat International in cooperation with the National Authority for Oil and Gas.
The celebration to launch the report was held at the Gulf Convention Center, and was attended by a number of specialists and executives in the oil and gas and banking sectors of the Kingdom and other countries.
It contains 140 pages, covering the sector’s accomplishments during the past year and a number of the Kingdom’s economic matters. The report is the third in a series of issues of Wildcat International in Bahrain, and coincides with the 80th anniversary of oil discovery in Bahrain, the first country in the GCC to discover oil on its lands in 1932.
The minister spoke about the role of oil and gas in the development process Bahrain is undergoing under its wise leadership, and further commented on the many global events the country hosted, most importantly the Formula One race, the Bahrain International Airshow and the Geosciences Conference and Exhibition, and many more. The minister also spoke of the oil industry’s strategic projects, such as the plan to develop the refinery, and the project of solar energy between the Authority and Petrosolar.
He confirmed that such a specialized report contributes to delivering information and achievement figures to readers, and briefs them on accomplishments of the oil and gas sector in Bahrain, especially since Wildcat International will distribute the report in several occasions related to oil, where the number of readers is expected to reach 44,000 readers in approximately 100 countries around the world.
