Batelco Group announced the appointment of Marco Regnier as Group Chief Financial 0fficer (CFO) with effect 1 May 2012.
Regnier joins the Group from Tunis-based Tunisie Telecom, a subsidiary of Emirates International Telecommunications Ltd (EITL), where he was CFO for three years after having served as a strategic advisor to the company for two years. Prior to that, he held various other senior finance and advisory roles in the industry with companies such as Telesystem International Wireless (Canada, Czech Republic, Brazil), Watanya Telecom International (Algeria) and Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Dubai).

His experience internationally and with other regional telecommunications companies in our markets of operation will further strengthen Batelco Group’s management team. It also supports efforts, at this important time, for continued market leadership in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Group’s drive for growth across the MENA markets and Asia,” Group CEO, Shaikh Mohamed Bin Isa Al Khalifa, said.

Regnier has also worked with Imperial Oil, a Canadian subsidiary of Exxon Mobil, as a Financial Analyst and at Ernst & Young in Canada as Manager Advisory Services. He holds professional qualifications that include Chartered Accountant (CA), Bachelor of Accounting Sciences (BSc) and MBA from ESG Montreal.
