The annual general assembly of the Bahrain Journalists’ Association (BJA) have been adjourned on Saturday, till May 19th, for want of quorum, the BJA in a statement said.
The BJA in a statement confirmed that during its Ordinary General Assembly, at Bait Al Tijjar hall, which was dedicated to elect members of the new board of directors and discuss the latest developments, due to lack of quorum.
The association called, according to its bye-law, to hold the elections on May 19, 2012 in which 10 candidates will be vying for board membership.
They are Osama Al Majid from Al Bilad newspaper, Farid Ahmed, Samah Allam and Ihab Ahmed from Al Watan newspaper, ZainabAbdul Amir, Aisha Al Siddiqi and AliMajeed from Al Ayyam newspaper, Abdullah Al Mennai from Akhbar Al Khaleej Newspaper and Muhannad Suleiman and Ahdeya Ahmed from the Information Affairs Authority.
Editor-in-Chief of Al Bilad newspaper Mo’nes Al Merdi has been elected unopposed BJA President.
