BJA members to elect new board today

Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) General Assembly is set to convene at 10 am its meeting at Al-Oroba Club hall on Saturday to elect the new board members. The previous general assembly was adjourned for two weeks for the want of the quorum and the BJA has called upon all members to attend the meeting to elect BJA board members and discuss key issues related to the press field.

Ten candidates who will be vying for the board membership include Osama Al Majid from Al Bilad newspaper, Farid Ahmed, Samah Allam and Ihab Ahmed from Al Watan newspaper, ZainabAbdul Amir, Aisha Al Siddiqi and AliMajeed from Al Ayyam newspaper, Abdullah Al Mennai from Akhbar Al Khaleejnewspaper and Muhannad Suleiman and Ahedya Ahmed from the Information Affairs Authority (IAA).

The Editor-in-Chief of Al Bilad newspaper Mo’nes Al Merdi had already been elected unopposed as BJA President.
