With Brazil-Dubai business roundtables is set for Monday, Brazilian imports from UAE in 2011 reached total of $478.67 million marking a 170 per cent increase over 2010.
The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce together with the Dubai Export Development Corporation (DEDC), the export promotion entity in the United Arab Emirates, is organizing two business roundtables between exporters from Dubai and Brazilian importers at the Arab Chamber headquarters in São Paulo, starting on May 28, 2012 until May 29.
The Dubai delegation is formed by six companies Shelfco Metal Industries, manufacturer of metallic furniture; Diamond Line F.Z.E, provider of heating fuels and shampoo and conditioner kits for hotels; Micro Automation Industries, involved in protection products for electronic devices (Powermatic); Ram Metal Industries, involved in metal products and lighting accessories; NAFFCO, provider of fire-fighting equipment; and Emirates SkyCargo, involved in air logistics.
This is the second time that the DEDC is organizing a trade mission to Brazil. Last year the delegation was formed by a group of exporters interested in learning about the opportunities, study the Brazilian market and analyze the possibility of establishing partnerships. After Brazil, the mission will go to Argentina.
Last year, Brazil imported from the UAE a total of $478.67 million, which represented an increase by 170 per cent in relation to the previous year. The main products imported were fuels ($330 million), salt and sulfur ($78 million), plastics and its products ($19 million), fertilizers ($13 million) and glass ($11 million).
