The Chief of Public Prosecution Osama Al-Awfi that the High Criminal Court has issued its verdict versus a terror cell charged with conniving et alia in order to commit terrorist acts inside the Kingdom of Bahrain and who had intelligence contacts with a foreign country for the purpose of implementing such criminal acts.
The court has ruled in favor of the conviction of six accused persons penalizing each one of the six plotters with a fifteen years’ imprisonment term each and has acquitted two accused conspirators.
The Public Prosecution had conducted wide investigations regarding the Ministry of Inferior’s findings regarding the accusation of two persons who resided abroad and one who resided inside the Kingdom who contacted the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian Basige in order to target strategic and sensitive installations in the Kingdom specifically the Minister of Interior, the King Fahd Causeway and the Saudi Embassy and who recruited other accused persons and formed an organized criminal gang in order to achieve these ends, had actually begun to undergo a course of training on the use of firearms and explosives, in addition to findings concluded upon investigations that some elements of this gang were able to enter the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by illegal means but were arrested by Qatari authorities on the borders on their way to Iran to receive training whilst they had in their possession items and computers which included the plans of the terror gang.
The Public Prosecution referred the accused persons to the High Criminal Court for charges of having intelligence relations with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian Basige and supplied them with information regarding the internal affairs of the homeland for the purpose of targeting sensitive strategic installations, and organized and ran a terrorist gang, raised funds to finance their gang, undergone training on firearms for the purpose of using them in implementing terrorist operations, had illegally departed from the Kingdom’s territories according to confessions of some of them and as confirmed by confiscated documents, items and computers which had been caught in their possession.
The High Criminal Court has adjudicated in favour of issuance of its above mentioned verdict.
