Chairman NOGA, Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza to Open the Middle East’s longest running annual oil conference on May 7, 2012
Presidents of international oil companies, senior government officials and heads of national oil companies in the Gulf/Middle East, top financiers and leading organizations in the oil and gas business will gather in the Kingdom of Bahrain from, May 5 – 10, 2012 for Middle East Petroleum and Gas Week (MEOW) events.
The official opening for the Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference (MPGC 2012), which is the anchor event for the week, and also the longest running annual oil conference in the Middle East, will be on May 7th.
This will be graced by His Excellency Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza, Minister of Energy-Chairman of National Oil and Gas Authority by a welcoming speech, to be followed by Ministerial Address from His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry, State of Qatar.
Following the opening will be two Keynote Addresses on the State of the Energy Trading markets, to be presented by Said A. Al-Hadrami, President and CEO of Aramco Trading, addressing the first ever marketing interface in the history of Saudi Aramco and Ian Taylor, President and CEO of Vitol Group of Companies, Platinum sponsors. More than thirty (30) other speakers will address MPGC 2012 which is well known for its excellence in delivering the latest industry insights from leading oil industry visionaries on the evolving supply, demand, and refinery trends in the global oil markets, as well as changes in pricing benchmarks.
A highlight of 2012 agenda issues will be the dual trends of resurgence of North American oil production and energy year and election politics and what this will mean for the Middle East. Dr Fereidun Fesharaki, Chairman of FGE-FACTS Global Energy and Conference Co-Chairman of MPGC, will present his annual and much awaited “Crystal Ball” on the fortunes of the global oil markets.
The Bahraini oil industry will be represented by speakers from Bapco, NOGA and Tatweer Petroleum, including Sheikh Mohammed K Al Khalifa, CEO of Noga Holding and Gordon Smith, Chief Executive of BAPCO. More than 350 delegates are expected at the event which starts on May 6 2012 with the Official Opening on May 7 at the Ritz Carlton Bahrain Hotel and Spa.
A total of six different events are planned during Middle East Petroleum and Gas Week, from May 5, with the annual Middle East Petroleum and Gas Conference (MPGC 2012) being the anchor event. Four other briefings and courses will also be held, covering key strategies for the upstream and downstream sectors, natural gas, gasoline & diesel blending and one and half day inaugural conference on base oil and lubes.
