The Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC), as a bloc, needs more innovative companies to create a sustainable development patterns in all vital business areas, according to an expert.
Gifford Pinchot, CEO of Pinchot & Company and Co-founder and President of Bainbridge Graduate Institute, USA in his keynote during the opening of the world’s first Intrapreneurship Forum highlighted the importance of creating innovation as a culture across the board.
The founder of Intrapreneur concept, Pinchot, says the intrapreneur serves as an essential ingredient in every innovation.
Dr. Gifford Pinchot, being a global leader in intrapreneurship will also lead Executive Management Workshop on intrapreneurship on Monday.
The Firm (TF), an international private members networking organization for business development and intrapreneurship, termed the first day of the Global Intrapreneurship Forum 2012 a success.
The event is being held in Bahrain on May 27-28 2012 at the Gulf Hotel under the patronage of the Minister of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Hassan Fakhro.
The event’s launch marked the first ever global conference of its kind dedicated to supporting the development of intrapreneurship and innovation within corporations and SMEs as well as among investors and individuals.
The Forum’s inaugural day saw global and regional business leaders discuss the importance of intrapreneurship in further growth and development both on a company and economy level and specific challenges to include: How to channel intrapreneurial energy into our economies and How to develop the market-place for intrapreneurship,
The Forum discussed the imperative for the regional companies to become intrapreneurial themselves and take calculated risk in order to create new ventures from within that utilize the skills, expertise and know-how of their employees. This is a key means for quickly enhancing the pace of economic development and growth in our economies.
Dr Maher Chebbo, VP, Head of EMEA Utilities & Services Industries SAP AG, Germany, who gave participants his “Top 10 recommendations for a successful intrapreneurship investment in rewarding sectors of the economy.”
Other key speakers of the Forum will include Dr. Saad Al Barak, former CEO of Zain Group Kuwait, and Dr Hamad AlOmar and Dr. Sultan Bahabri from KSA.

The Workshop is designed for business leaders at corporations and SMEs and will focus on encouraging them to develop internal intrapreneurship cultures and programs within their organizations. It will share best practices to foster talent and drive the development of new ideas and ventures.
