The GCC leaders will hold their 14th consultative meeting in Riyadh next Monday under the chairmanship of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the President of the current session of the GCC Supreme Council.
The GCC leaders, among many topics, will discuss the development on the efforts of taking the bloc one step further from the GCC to the GCC Union.
GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani expressed happiness, stressing the importance of holding the meeting at this time to discuss the latest regional and international developments.
He said the consultative meetings of the GCC leaders reflect keenness to continuously follow up on the needs of the GCC nationals and achieve their aspirations.
He also explained that the GCC leaders would have a briefing on joint cooperation and King Abdullah’s initiative regarding transition from the GCC cooperation phase to the union phase.
He added that a special ministerial meeting of the GCC Foreign Ministers would be held tomorrow Sunday at the Secretariat General to prepare for the consultative summit.
